Have you ever thought you want to branch out into some international food but didn’t know where to start or if you’d even like the food? Well, we’re here to give you a hand and share with you our favorite places to go in mostly South Nashville. These are the restaurants we recommend in Nashville for a great experience and good food. So give these a try and tell us your stories of new experiences!

1. One of the best experiences we can recommend for you is to visit The Horn. It’s a Somali coffee and tea shop and their chai is amazing! They also serve some pastries and sambusas.  The smell alone is worth the visit. Their social media always makes our mouths water.

2. The roast whole chicken is something we crave regularly from Panca. Our favorite Peruvian street food includes the chicken, yucca fries (in a great aioli), and plantains.

3. Our favorite Thai food restaurant is Bangkokville! We recommend their Massaman Curry or any of their noodle dishes!

4. Indian food is always a favorite, and we usually go to Taj Indian Restaurant. It’s owned by the same people that own Patel Brothers, a great Indian grocery store that is definitely worth a field trip (or even regular visits to get your new favorite Chai!).  At Taj, though, we recommend the Navratan Korma, the Cashew Chicken, or the Biriyani (spicy!).

5. You may not know that there is an Uzbek community living in Nashville, but there is! To get a taste of their food head over to Osh Restaurant and Grill and try out the Langman with hand-pulled noodles!

6. For Vietnamese food, you have to try Vinh Long. Pho is, of course, the best thing ever and their large easily serves 2-3 people for lunch.

7. For a Kurdish-Turkish fusion, you should check out Edessa for some kebab or the appetizer platter with hummus, tabouleh, and baba ghanoush.

8. Another Kurdish-Turkish option is TashTea where you can get a full authentic Turkish Breakfast! This is a great experience with a group where you get a large variety of foods to experience.

9. While the food isn’t exactly international, we couldn’t share a list of restaurants without including Tasty and Delicious. It’s a burger place owned by a Middle Eastern family and they live up to their name! Their food is tasty and delicious!

10. And owned by the family of one of our ESL students, there is Zomi Burmese food! T3 Plus Zomi Cuisine has inexpensive and tasty sushi and we really enjoyed the orange chicken and noodles as suggested by our friend.

And if you have any restaurants you think we should add to this list, let us know and we’ll go give it a try! We’d love to try some new places!
