As you may have heard, we’re renovating the basement. We are hoping that his space can become a place where our international refugee friends and believers can learn together and befriend each other.
Each week we get a little step further and wanted to let you in on our excitement as we see things progress! So… photos! =)

Before the dental lab moved out!

A lot of furniture was left behind.

Wet carpet, we’re going to have to do something about this before we can have programs down here.
Wet and walls…
Walls are starting to come down! (This wall is on the right side of the last pic.)
Dave works at pulling out moldy carpet.
The masks are important as there is still so much dust!
The asbestos tile has been professionally removed, along with the bulk of the dust!
This is the cleanest it’s been in years!
Now all the moldy wallboard is gone!
I can see through walls!

New heating ducts!
Framing is going up – this will be the storage room.
Now we have a chop saw!
Putting in a new window!
Blocking in the old doorway
This will be the primary doorway after it’s all done.
The space is coming along!
Director John starts the process of cutting insulation!
It’s a little bathroom! It has walls!
Insulation up!
The green/grey stuff is for the wall that’s underground.
Just one corner open for a few adjustments.
It feels like a real room now!
We used up all that Home Depot had.
Wallboard up!
Finished edges and primer.
Painting the ceilings!
Now it’s “Sea Salt!”
