South Nashville is home to many refugee women who would love the chance to get out and exercise, practice their English, and make a new friend.
Grab your walking shoes and join us Saturday mornings this fall at a local park for Walk & Talk.
Opportunities for exercise and fellowship are very limited for these ladies, so plan to join us and help make a difference in the lives of our newest neighbors.
We will meet as a group 3 Saturday mornings this September, plus one orientation. While walking, you’ll get to help ladies practice the English skills they’ve been learning in class. Most importantly, you’ll get to meet a new neighbor and make a new friend.
This fall we won’t be renting a van, so you’ll be signing up to also help pick up and drop off the ladies.
Thursday, April 11 (7:00-8:30pm)
We’ll talk about building Christ-centered friendships with refugees, discuss cultural considerations, and give you some simple tools to start the conversation and keep it going. Orientation will be at SGI’s office: 506 Tanksley Avenue, Nashville, TN 37211
Saturdays mornings 10:30 – noon
(There is a playground for children, but no supervision provided.)
